That's like when a Soldier is told to do something a little shady in the recruiting world by his leadership team. The recruiter resists, the leadership team insists that it's OK and says they'll back the recruiter if there's any problem down the line. The recruiter says, "OK, if you'll please send me an email saying that." The leadership teams gets very grumpy and feels insulted, but often drops the whole shady issue. Makes me feel like their promise to back up the recruiter may have been broken if trouble arose...
